Navigating through the many changes and transitions in life within today’s turbulent and complex society is especially challenging for emotional wellbeing and psychological health. For over four decades I’ve helped men and women find ways to heal and resolve conflicts in their relationships, work, and sense of life purpose. Moreover, how you can create a positive vision of an integrated, fulfilling life. Working with patients in my Washington DC office or via Skype or FaceTime, my perspective grows from psychoanalytic understanding that many conflicts and traumas arise from family experiences, even across generations, and take root in your life. But in addition, cultural, gender, career and relationship experiences also contribute to shaping your view of yourself: your emotional conflicts, your sense of limitations about life’s possibilities; and the values that you live by – knowingly or unknowingly.
Many then suffer from anxiety, depression, stress, chronic indecision, alcohol or drug use, obsessive-compulsive behavior, marital and relationship dissatisfaction, work-related conflicts; and uncertainty about your life purpose.
Therapy helps resolve and heal such conflicts and symptoms that impede your capacity for positive, loving relationships, career fulfillment, and greater expression of untapped dimensions of your personality, which otherwise remain dormant and a source of frustration; even despair.
Through empathic and direct communication and collaboration, I help activate your emotional awakening and actions that promote both healing and growth towards a more fulfilling, creative, and meaningful life.
